Bali Wreck Diving.

DSC03820

There are a few great wrecks to dive on the eastern side of Bali.

These are easy shore entry dives in clear, warm water.

The USAT Liberty wreck was an armed cargo steamship that was torpedoed by the Japanese in 1942. It lies in Tulamben Bay, which has a great drop off dive as well.

Spaghetti Tube Worm Catching Live Fish

You often see these spaghetti tube worms lying over the rocks and on the sand.

This Spaghetti Tube Worm was recently filmed in Bali.
Caught in action whilst catching a live fish. So, they don’t only feed on drifting scraps.
The Spaghetti Tube Worm caught the fish and swallowed it.
You seldom see them catching a live fish for lunch!

What a good meal!
One of the other tentacles became very excited after this meal.

Water Palaces of Bali

We took a taxi today. You don’t want to drive yourself in Bali. The traffic is horrendous. Taxis are very inexpensive. Most of the drivers speak good English and tend to be excellent guides as well.

The best deal is to rent a taxi for a whole day.

Tirta Gangga palace in Bali near Karangase and Mount Abang, is a magnificent water palace, owned by the Karangasem Royal family.
The Taman Ujung water Palace is in the village of Seraya.

It is a beautiful combination of European and Balanese architecture.DSC03968
