Truk Lagoon (3) – “Kensho Maru”

DSC08895

The Kensho Maru is another beautiful wreck in Truk Lagoon.

This 36m deep, 116m long 4,862 ton passenger-cargo ship “lies” upright and leans slightly  to port.

She also sank during “Operation Hailstorm” in WW2.

There are many artifacts on board such as medical tables, bottles, plates, binoculars and a sextant.

The helm, cabins and galley are all very interesting.

But, the engine room is best, with all the engines and boilers still in “good” condition. (Not working condition,  photographically speaking)

One dive was not enough, we could have dived a couple of times on this wreck.

Life on the reefs of Bali.

DSC03502

Bali is an excellent dive destination. Because of all the excellent dive sites all around Indonesia, Bali is sometimes neglected.

Bali is not just a social happy place. It also has some of the best dive sites in the world.
There is no shortage of fish life, plants and corals.

These are wonderful overgrown gardens of soft and hard corals. With the constant current stream over the corals, abundant life and growth is assured.

Diving in these currents can sometimes be a bit treacherous and is not for the inexperienced divers.DSC03538
